A Revolutionary New Concept for CNC Milling at SPEED.

The Speeder can reduce cycle times, enabling you to be more competitive, more productive; and more profitable.

Achieve more from your cutters with a higher RPM, meaning:

  • Extended capability on your existing machines (e.g. Engraving)
  • Reduced wear on both machines own spindle and cutters
  • Improved surface finish and ease of detailing.

It’s Plug and Play and maintenance free:

  • No costly / complex integration
  • Simple to use; and
  • No after-service support required.

The SPEEDER 60 ER 11 is a high precision, high quality, reliable SPEEDER unit which compliments your machine(s).

Small Drilling
Detailing and De-burr

CASE STUDY

UK Precision Engineering Company

The customer requested a SPEEDER unit to reduce processing time performing profile milling on parts such as the test article; a large (3m x 0.2 m) Aluminium mould die.

Machine: HEDELIUS C-125 from YMT (max head speed 10,000 RPM)
Cutter: 0.5 mm ball nose cutter (4 mm shank)

Previous (10k RPM):

6 hours and 36 minutes (Feed: 450 mm/min)

Estimated (60k RPM):

1 hour and 32 minutes (Feed 2,475 mm/min)

Actual (60k RPM):

2 hours and 50 minutes (3:40 hrs. saving)

The programmed tool path required multiple Z-axis steps which hindered the axis from achieving the targeted maximum feed, had the job been programmed differently, the team felt a shorter processing time could have been achieved.

The SPEEDER performed reliably, achieving a high quality finish.

Battery life was not an issue, with a full charge, would have supported over 6 hours of continuous cutting. Efficiency would be further improved with a reduced SPEEDER speed and through-spindle coolant.

Cutting Trials

Cutting trials were performed on an XYZ Vertical Machining Centre. The BT40+ SPEEDER was fitted to the machine and a series of cuts were performed with different cutting tools to evaluate performance.

The results from the Scanning/Profile milling and Engraving were impressive, allowing the tools to exert the full range of their capability.

The SPEEDER was equally capable of high-speed slot-milling and end-milling, achieving a high-quality finish with the depth and feed of cut tuned to the SPEEDERS consistent torque output.

Key:  ap – depth of cut (mm)  ae – radial cut (mm)  n – (SPEEDER) RPM  Vf = feed (mm/Min)  fz = feed per tooth (mm)

Try it on your own machine

The best way to know what the SPEEDER will do for your parts is to run it on your own machine, with your own tools, on a job you already know the numbers for.

Tell us what you’re running and what you’re trying to achieve, and we’ll arrange a trial unit. There’s no cost to trying it, and no obligation afterwards.

Free technical advice comes as standard – if the SPEEDER isn’t the right fit for your application, we’ll tell you.

Request a trial unit

This trial is for you if:

  • You run or manage a CNC machining operation in the UK and Ireland
  • Your machine’s spindle speed is holding back what your small-diameter tooling can actually do
  • You’re seeing poor surface finish on fine-feature work, slow cycle times, or quality you can’t hit at your current speeds
  • A new machine isn’t in this year’s budget, but your parts still need to get better
  • You’re working in composites, aluminium, titanium, carbon fibre, or other non-ferrous materials
