Deep Groove Ball Bearings
GRW deep groove ball bearings are suitable for use at both low speed with high sensitivity to torque and at very high speeds. They absorb radial and axial forces. Typical applications for GRW deep groove ball bearings: electric motors, fans, and encoders requiring long life, flowmeters, gyro gimbal bearings requiring very low starting torque, aerospace, deep space and vacuum instruments requiring special lubrication and coatings, dental and medical requiring high corrosion and chemical resistance, packaging and can making requiring high loads and free running.
All GRW ball bearings have the highest level of repeatability.
GRW deep-groove ball bearings consist of:
- An inner and an outer ring
- A set of balls
- A cage (retainer)
- Either supplied dry or lubricated
- Optional are: flanged outers, extended inners, shields or seals plus a vast array of materials, sizes etc.
The application of a suitable lubricant will extend the service life of these ball bearings. GRW offers a range of over 400 different lubricants: oils, greases and coatings with which they can match your exact needs.
GRW single row deep groove ball bearing materials and designs
Chromium steel, 100Cr6 (AISI 52100) bearing rings are used unless corrosion resistance is required, then martensitic steels, grades X65Cr13 (SS) or X30CrMoN15-1 (SV) can be supplied. The balls can be supplied in either corrosion resistant steel or ceramic material (in hybrid designs).
GRW's standard cage for deep groove ball bearings is a two-part steel ribbon-type, plastic and phenolic laminate materials can also be supplied dependant on the application. Shields and seals are made of corrosion-resistant sheet steel, reinforced Perbunan (nitrile rubber) or fluorine rubber (FKM). Depending upon the design of the bearing, the sealing discs next to the inner ring are made from Teflon-coated glass fibre fabric, reinforced Perbunan (nitrile rubber) or fluorine rubber (FKM). Over 400 different lubricants can be configured based on application requirements.
Standard range and special formats
Our standard version of deep groove ball bearings are classified according to ISO or AFBMA. We can accommodate any specification where special tolerances and/or special versions are required.
